9. Darth Maul

First introduced in Episode 1, Darth Maul was the original apprentice to Darth Sidious (before his days as The Emperor).

Maul has a unique and distinct style that makes him instantly recognisable, and was the first force user to be shown with a double-bladed lightsaber. Although he quickly became a fan favourite, he didn't exactly survive the events of Episode 1 - although he was brought back during the events of The Clone Wars TV show.

Maul was also shown off during the gameplay demo of Star Wars Battlefront 2 at this year's E3, where we got to see his skills in action.
