Have EA fallen too far?

Star Wars Battlefront is on life support, and fading fast.

The massive controversy surrounding EA shoving microtransactions into a triple A product, delivering a poor single-player campaign and locking cosmetic customisation for no reason all made the dev look more manipulative than ever. When actual governments get involved, you know you've screwed up.

With all of the damage EA have managed to do to a once-beloved line of Star Wars games, it's surprising they're even still considering making a third game in the series.

That's not to say the possibility is completely alienating. If the rumours of Disney giving the licence to another company aren't true, then a third game could potentially do well.

After all, there are many aspects of the recent Battlefront games that do inspire hope, such as the amazing attention to detail and continued desire to deliver a single-player story worth playing.

Still, none of that means anything if EA aren't willing to fix what really matters. Although a recent update has fixed a lot of the key issues involving Star Cards and progressing, it hasn't changed enough. The things that weighed the second Battlefront down need fixing urgently, otherwise people are never going to trust the franchise again.

10. Don't Rush It Out

We all need time to heal.

Battlefront 2 was such a disaster in the eyes of pretty much everyone, that EA need to take it off the market for a year or two.

For starters, this allows them time to try and fix as much as they can, by trying to make it into the best product it possibly can be post-launch. Although this may seem impossible at this point, EA need to show that they can at least try and support their releases.

This also gives EA some time to try and deflect the bad will they got from releasing BF2 in such a naff state. It worked for the first game, so it's likely they'll try and make peace with those who are still burned out from the last two releases before going for a third.

For the love of god EA, make Battlefront 3 a 2019/2020 release.
