Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order isn't just the latest Star Wars game to arrive on consoles - it's an official entry in the Star Wars canon. And with Star Wars being an expansive monomyth that encompasses thousands of years worth of stories, everything is going to reference something at some stage or another.
Fallen Order is no different, and the story written by Aaron Contreras, Manny Hagopian, Matt Michnovetz and Megan Fausti is a worthy addition to the Star Wars canon. It finds a perfect timeframe to tell its story, early on in the gap between Episodes III and IV (five years after Revenge of the Sith to be exact); it draws inspiration from both the Prequels and Original Trilogy to fashion its own unique setting, and it does it all while paying homage to some of the franchise's most beloved elements.
The game's story really shines through, and while it's something lore fanatics will doubtlessly gobble up, more casual fans and those just curious to learn more about Fallen Order's references won't have noticed everything.
