Anyone whos played the bizarre, but hugely fun, Mystical Ninja titles on the Nintendo 64 will be surprised that series protagonist Goemon is not already available as a Super Smash Bros. character. As part of his own video game franchise, Goemon encapsulates the over-the-top action and wacky Japanese humour that have become staples of the Smash Bros. games. He could use his coin throwing to attack enemies from a distance and his pipe for closer skirmishes, while the huge robot levels, or Impact Battles as they were known in the N64 title, would also make the ideal Final Smash attack. Although, the Mystical Ninja series has not gained much appeal outside of its native Japan (the last few titles havent even seen a worldwide release), Goemons addition to Nintendos popular beat em up could help change that. Super Smash Bros. has already helped less well-known games like the Fire Emblem series increase in popularity abroad and could work similarly for the Mystical Ninja games.
