One of the most popular Nintendo franchises in the recent years is definitely Splatoon. Part of this appeal comes from the game's standout characters; the Inklings.

Besides having great style, the Inklings also have a variety of different moves that would be perfectly translated into their special attacks. Basic combos would most likely involve turning in and out of squids and each attack could cover the map in ink that allows them to travel around.

Something which would make the Inklings extremely unique would be the ability to turn into a squid in favour of blocking. Turning into a squid could slowly refill their health and charge up their special moves, but make sure that they never really have a chance to relax.

The Inkling's recovery move could have them use the Super Jump or the brand new Inkjet from Splatoon 2, whilst their side specials could have them changing weapons and using things like the Squiffer or the Roller.

The appearance of the Inklings is just about set and stone, although how they will play will be entirely up to the genius of Sakurai.
