Think mobile games in 2016 and you'll think Pokémon GO, it's that simple. Niantic's little randomly-released gem absolutely dominated the Summer this year, resulting in millions of us journeying out across our respective landscapes to "catch 'em all".
A bonafide gaming sensation, sadly Niantic - thanks to not being the biggest developer in the world - buckled somewhat under the pressure. Following a phenomenal first few weeks, the game's key tracking feature was removed - thereby killing the core appeal of finding your favourite creatures - and never adequately put back.
To this day, PoGo is remembered more as "that game we all played", but when its highs were so damn high, none of the competition even comes close.
