Labelled a 'rhythm violence' game for good reason, Thumper bolted out the gates with a righteous metallic fury, its gameplay centring around guiding a large beetle through a number of tracks, all the movements within triggering all sorts of sound effects and musical cues.

Graphically there are times where it connotes pure horror, and playing this in VR is a trip, to say the least. Thumper excels by taking the rhythm genre, plunging into the depths of hell and challenging you to keep up.

If you can, there's nothing else quite like it.
