4. Ni No Kuni II Nominated For Best RPG

The Best RPG category unsurprisingly saw the brilliant likes of Octopath Traveller and the ultra-popular Monster Hunter: World nominated and become instant front-runners, but one of the more baffling nods went to Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom.

Though the game was initially well-received by critics, the fan response was decidedly more vitriolic, rightly criticising its disappointingly cheap presentation, lack of difficulty and frustrating number of brick walls impeding progress.

A mere shadow of its incredible predecessor, one can only assume that the sequel is simply filler to pad out the category. Its other nomination for Best Score/Music makes sense enough, but Best RPG? Really?
