The Last of Us Coming 2013

You won't be playing The Last of Us this year.

Sony has confirmed that The Last of Us will not be released this year. Fans had been predicting that the game would be pushed back until next year because no release date was shown during the E3 demo. Here is the exact quote from Shuhei Yoshida Sony Worldwide Studios boss:
€œWe are not ready to talk about 2013. But some of the games we showed like God of War and The Last of Us are not coming out this year,€
The Last of Us had probably the second best demo behind the newly announced game from Ubisoft Watch Dogs. However, when the demo ended and no release date was shown, it was pretty obvious the game would not be coming out this year. That being said this year really could have used a game like Last of Us because with all the recent delays 2012 is looking a little sparse. However, 2013 at this point is looking way overloaded, with so many titles coming out next year I don't have enough space to mention them all. The interesting thing will be if Sony and Microsoft will both release new consoles next year, it will be chaos in terms of games. Personally for me there are not that many games I am excited about being released the rest of this year: Assassin's Creed 3, Borderlands 2, and Dishonored (I still feel this game may get delayed). Last of Us would have brought some much needed diversity to 2012, but unfortunately we will have to wait until next year to play one of 2012 E3s best looking games.
