Tomb Raider: Ranking Every Game From Worst To Best

12. Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness

The black sheep of the franchise and largely a disappointment due to its unfinished state at launch, Angel of Darkness was infamously rushed by publisher Eidos Interactive so it could be cross promoted with the movie 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life'

Luckily, this is a title that time has been rather kind to.

Sure, there might have been only one or two tombs in the entire game, but with a deep, mysterious lore spanning centuries, on top of an engaging plot that centres on Lara trying to clear her name of a murder - all while investigating the activities of a black magic cult - it made for the most cinematic Tomb Raider yet.

It would even would include things that became staples of Lara’s modern trilogy, such as RPG-like progression and stealth (however clunky that might have been at the time). A quick internet search will show you the strong cult following this game have, proving that, even at its worst, Tomb Raider is still good.
