In 2020, the video game marketplace is full of massive open-world RPGs, licensed sports games and Battle Royale modes, so what better time to take a break and break some bricks?

At first glance, Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure is nothing more than a simple brick breaker in the same vein as Arkanoid and Breakout, dating all the way back to early Atari and Nintendo Entertainment Systems. But if you catch the trailer for this title, it's clear there is, in fact, far more than meets the eye.

A delightful surprise of Twin Breaker is that it comes with an actual narrative, and isn't just a random assortment of levels. The "paddles" you control are known as Greetings and Salutations, on an interstellar journey after Earth has been consumed by another World War.

So yeah, bouncing these balls is life or death for the future of our kind. Because video games.

Even though this PlayStation 4 / PSVita title (yup, a brand new PS Vita title in 2020) is dropping between some of the biggest releases of the year, is this humble throwback with a sci-fi adventure wrapping worth the price of admission?

Well, yes actually.
