7. Tomb Raider Inspired Uncharted

There is very little you can say to take away from Tomb Raider's legacy - the original game in particular was a landmark title in 3D action-adventure games, all while originating one of the medium's all-time greatest heroines in Lara Croft.

And when Uncharted arrived on the scene a little over a decade later, the inspiration was undeniable, with many even sarcastically dubbing Naughty Dog's game "Dude Raider."

Now in fairness, few are going to claim that the original Uncharted could really hold a candle to the better Tomb Raider games, but that all changed with the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

With its peerless cinematic action, witty script, and genuinely well-drawn characters, it felt like a bonafide movie in video game form, in turn making Tomb Raider feel a bit quaint and corny by comparison.

Ironically Tomb Raider responded by reinventing itself and taking more than a few cues from Uncharted, but it never quite reached the high peak that Naughty Dog summitted with the better Uncharted games.
