6. The Chico Tapes - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has a number of collectible tapes which further flesh out the backstory of Chico, a character who was first introduced in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

While many of the logs in both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are comedic and absurd, this document of the horrors Chico was subjected to is downright nauseating.

The tapes depict Chico being captured at Camp Omega and tortured both physically and psychologically by Skull Face. 

This enters a whole other level of stomach-churning, however, when Skull Face forces Chico - who, remember, is just 13 years old at the time - to have sex with Paz, the very woman he broke into Camp Omega to rescue.

The tape in question goes on for a long, long time, and so it's little surprise that the game's lingering depiction of sexual assault was criticised as tactless by many outlets.

While these tapes certainly expand Chico's backstory leading up to Ground Zeroes, they're so unrelentingly nasty that you'll probably wish you never heard them.
