Uncharted 4: 10 Suggestions To Avoid A Total Misfire

2. More Adventuring

Uncharted has always been an adventure game but despite this, a significant amount of the players time is spent shooting up bad guys. Naughty Dog should take inspiration from the spinoff game for the Playstation Vita Uncharted: Golden Abyss (developed by Sony Bend) and give Drake just more time exploring and hunting for treasures/collectibles. This was really satisfying, especially due to the increased number of collectibles for players to hunt down and how each collectible was then added to Drake€™s ever-expanding diary. Not only that but for the first time, in this portable prequel Drake actually carried a backpack, leading to important questions about the franchise so far. Namely, how has Drake never carried a backpack before? After all, he€™s supposed to be an adventurer! One other final bit of inspiration ND should take from Golden Abyss is its length. Most Uncharted games are typically around 6 hours whereas Drake's first portable adventure was more like 10 hours. A longer length would naturally give players more opportunities for some down-time between all the action and explosions allowing us to explore the amazing ruins for ourselves and not just get a short teaser whilst we run along a collapsing bridge. Basically, there needs to be some adjusting to the pacing of the upcoming Uncharted game and to repeat ourselves once again, The Last Of Us is a perfect example of pacing in a video game.
