WWE 2K14: 7 Things We Want To See In WWE 2K15

2. An Overhaul To The Gameplay Mechanics

After taking over publishing duties from the defunct THQ, 2K had two options €“ make the series their own or play it safe. In the end, they chose the latter. WWE 2k14 plays exactly the same as predecessor €™13, with a lot of the same lines of commentary used and a game mode (30 Years of WrestleMania) almost identical in style to last year€™s Attitude Era. The gameplay mechanics haven€™t changed a jot, and nor have the visuals, while the same can also be said of the creation suite. All the creation modes for custom characters, entrances and finishing moves are back pretty much exactly as they were in predecessor WWE 13, and it€™s easy to get the sense that you€™re playing pretty much the same game as last year. It€™s time to freshen things up. Fortunately, next generation hardware should help solve some of these problems, and we€™re hopeful for the WWE franchise when it moves onto the PS4 and Xbox One.
