WWE 2K16: New Video Shows Haku's Tongan Death Grip

Mankind left passing out, not tapping out...

By Ross Tweddell /

The latest video from 2K Dev shows Haku making Mankind pass out from his Tongan Death Grip finisher in WWE 2K16. That's right. Pass out, not tap out... We've come to this conclusion as Mankind is seen neither physically tapping out nor "Breaking Point", or something to that effect, appears on screen like it did in previous years. Instead, Mankind merely drops to the mat as if he's lost consciousness before the referee calls for the bell. Not only that, but in another feature that is new to this year's game, Haku keeps the hold on for a good few seconds after the bell has sounded, just like a monster heel such as he would in real life.It has been revealed that Haku has been included in this year's game due to his involvement in the 2001 Royal Rumble, a match that will take place in the featured Stone Cold Steve Austin mode. This footage takes place in the 'RAW IS WAR' area, although we can't see the Titantron in all its inevitable glory. While you'll also notice that the three-man commentary team of Messrs Cole, Lawler and Layfield can he seen in the background, which means this bout was an exhibition match and will not be part of any Attitude Era mode as Jim Ross appears exclusively in there. The last thing to note is the drawings on Mankind's boots. This shows the staggering levels the attention to detail will be in WWE 2K16. Mick Foley's kids drew on his boots during his run at the top of the company back in the late 90's, and despite this, he's told of how he decided to wear them in the ring anyway.
