WWE 2K16: Seth Rollins' Curb Stomp Included

Too violent for the real life ring, but...

By Ross Tweddell /

The latest video from the 2K Dev YouTube account, showcasing a match between Sting and Seth Rollins packs a very surprising punch. Or a kick, technically. The match in the video - set against the backdrop of the RAW arena - shockingly includes a move that quite literally no one could have expected to be there. Despite its official banning order by the WWE, Rollins hits The Stinger with a Curbstomp, confirming the controversial move's inclusion in the game. The Architect's former finisher - which, he famously used to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania - has been written out of history over concerns relating to how violent it looks. In that respect it joined Randy Orton's punt, chair shots to the head and the original Pedigree on the long black-list of supposedly dangerous (or at least dangerous-looking) moves. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the cameras cut to the crowd whenever a promo showcasing any of Rollins' uses of the move plays - including the Mania main event. Even more surprisingly, fans will be able to replay the devastating finisher for themselves in WWE 2K16. In an interview with Fox Sports earlier this year, the former Shield member said: "It was a decision that was collectively made from a PR standpoint. Curb stomp just seemed like it was too perceptually violent, I guess you would say. I never hurt anyone with it. It was just something we didn€™t want kids trying on each other.€The clip also showcases how interaction between the crowd and the competitors in the ring has been improved, including crowd chants of "STING" and "This is awesome" and there's also a noticeably heightened reaction to the taunts the six-time WCW Champions uses. On top of that, it was made abundantly clear that JBL will be playing a severely reduced role in the commentary on the game. While Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole's interaction with one-another was endless, Bradshaw struggled to get a word in. Are you happy to see the curbstomp in WWE 2K16?
