It's only six months until WWE 2K17 hits the shelves so details about the new game are sure to take the internet by storm sooner than you think.
One of the key details that always causes controversy is who the cover star will be. There's always a group of current stars who are sure to be the leading contenders, but the way 2K have done business in recent years means the decision as to whose mug adorns the box it isn't the formality you might think it is.
Last year's game saw Stone Cold Steve Austin take to the cover because WWE and 2K decided to have The Texas Rattlesnake at the centre of the featured Showcase Mode.
2K15 saw the undeniable face of the company John Cena take to the cover, as the Showcase Mode was split up into several short sections rather than one detailed story.
In years gone by WWE games had computerised images on their covers. Although since the 2K/WWE relationship was born, actual real life images of some of the biggest names in the business have been used.
