Gilmore pretty much admitted that some of the CAW tools in recent 2K games have been sh*t. He said that the team are making a concerted effort to streamline the creation engine so that everyone can make their Create-A-Wrestlers look like the better pre-rendered WWE stars already in the game.

In order to achieve this, VC has been working hard to sell 2K on ditching old assets for things like hair.
