WWE 2K22 has officially been confirmed.

Coming during last night's WrestleMania Night 1 event, a teaser for the upcoming video game was unveiled to fans around the world. Said trailer included footage of Rey Mysterio going to war with Cesaro, cutting between live action and in-game footage throughout. However, it was stated that the in-game footage on show was taken from an in-progress build, so the finished product may not look entirely like the first glimpses we got here.

Along with a first look at what the game itself would feel like, WWE also revealed the tagline for the release - "It Hits Different".

A press release issued by WWE noted that the game will be released by the team of 2K, Visual Concepts and WWE Games. Despite there not being an official release date as of writing, it was confirmed that the game would be "coming soon", so we may not have to wait too long to plug back into the 2K wrestling world of old.

Of course, last year saw a severe lack of WWE 2K21 in response to the backlash felt from the lacklustre release that was WWE 2K20. WWE 2K Battlegrounds attempted to fill the void in its place, but there's no denying that WWE and 2K will be looking to make a statement after such a disappointing last release under the typical 2K banner.
