It is very awesome that both consoles have integrated routes to record bits of gameplay and share them. Its just the lack of partnered services that is holding the feature back from reaching its true potential. Lets look at how both Sony and Microsoft have approached this. Sony is pushing Facebook onto its gamers as the premium upload avenue, while Microsoft forces you to use Sky Drive for Windows 8. Theres something stupidly missing from this picture though; the biggest video hosting site on the planet, Youtube! Sure, you can bend over backwards through workarounds to rip your videos from Facebook or Sky Drive and upload them to Youtube, but the picture is severely downgraded. Its absolutely confounding that Sony or Microsoft hasnt just given gamers what they want.
