Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t officially released until April of this year, but one clever YouTuber has already recreated the game in Dreams.

Dubbed Cyberpunk 1997, Bearly Regal has released a video which showcases the ‘demake’ of this hotly anticipated game in a way that utilises pixel art in order to give a classic feel to Cyberpunk.

Waking up in a customisable futuristic apartment, we get to see the early basics of Cyberpunk explored in pixelated fashion. And even cooler, a quick drive in your player’s police car takes on a top-down perspective that’s sure to conjure up plentiful memories of the original Grand Theft Auto that just so happened to have been released back in ’97.

Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the first game to be deconstructed and ‘demade’ inside Dreams from Bearly Regal, for the user has also given this same treatment to Death Stranding – not to mention a HD remake for Metal Gear Solid.

Dreams is shaping up to be a fascinating proposition for gamers. Hitting PlayStation 4 on February 14th, the game creation system opens up the possibility to create fully-formed video games that can then be shared out amongst other PS4 users. In fact, Media Molecule – the developer behind Dreams – already has tentative plans to allow Dreams-created games to be shared out to other systems at some point down the line.

Much like many are eager to check out Cyberpunk 2077 upon its April 16th release, Dreams and its February 14th release date is another key date highlighted in the calendar of many a gamer.
