Yu-Gi-Oh! 10 Powerful Cards So Good They Were Banned!

10. Maxx "C"

Although not physically strong Maxx "C"s effect lead to it becoming one of the most powerful cards in the game. It's a weak Lv2 monster that is considered one of the first “handtraps”. During either player’s turn, it could be discarded to the graveyard from the had, and for the rest of the turn, you get to draw a card every time the opponent 'Special Summons' a monster.

With how common special summoning is in the current meta, allowing "C" meant that a player either had to forfeit their turn or risk their opponent being able to draw multiple cards and respond by breaking their board. It became the equivalent of consecutive Pot of Greeds with no cost whatsoever. So it lead to the card being utilized in almost every deck and that whoever played first was in fear of being "C"d.

The original idea behind the card was to create a level of risk to special summoning too many cards, but it became apparent that whoever would draw "C" first would immediately gain an unprecedented advantage and the card was simply too powerful to be left unchecked.
