Zelda: Breath Of The Wild - 8 Mind-Blowing Theories About The Story
8. The World Of Breath Of The Wild Is Set After Wind Waker's Flood
As with any new Zelda title, fans are always curious as to where exactly the game takes place with regards to Nintendo's official “timeline”. Theories already abound about where exactly Breath Of The Wild fits in, but one key detail from the demo may have clinched it in one particular direction.
In the demo, Link is seen mining from a piece of shining ore on the side of a cliff. When he's finished, he picks up an item called “Rock Salt” which has the description: “Crystallized salt from the ancient sea commonly used to season meals”.
The ancient sea? The implications are fairly obvious: that the entirety of this land was once covered in a huge body of water. And what game do we know featured a flooded Hyrule? Why, the Wind Waker, of course. Could that be why the game features Koroks, too?
