10 Horror Franchises Where Every Movie Is Good
10. Evil Dead
Though the Evil Dead franchise has released only five movies over the span of almost 45 years, each of them has been in the very least very good, and absolutely brought something fresh to the table.
The original is of course the best-known - but actually not the first - "cabin in the woods" horror movie, while Evil Dead II is a gloriously over-the-top reimagining of that setup, with Sam Raimi pulling out every deranged, slapstick-infused trick in the book.
Army of Darkness again switches things up with its delirious, time-traveling, dark fantasy setup that barely feels like horror at all, before Fede Álvarez served up a gritty, nauseatingly gory remake in 2013, and most recently Evil Dead Rise shifted the setting again to a confined apartment building.
Considering that Evil Dead has passed through the hands of three filmmakers across so few movies, it's impressive that the quality has remained so high, and there's every possibility they'll pull it off again with the impending Evil Dead Burn, to be directed by Sébastien Vaniček (Infected).
