10 Most Disappointing Villains From Recent Horror Movies

3. The Falconer Family - Fear Street: Prom Queen

Following a brilliantly bingeable trilogy of Fear Street films, 2025's fourth instalment, Fear Street: Prom Queen, represents after the Lord Mayor's show. This entry is particularly disappointing considering it was helmed by Matt Palmer, who wrote and directed the critically acclaimed Highlands horror, Calibre, from 2018.

We've seen some great horror villains wasted in terrible films, but that redeeming distinction can't be extended to Prom Queen's one-dimensional antagonists: the forgettable Falconer family, whose motivations are as weak as the prom punch before it was spiked.

Nancy (a wasted Katherine Waterston) is the malicious matriarch, demonstrating a ruthless love towards daughter Tiffany (Fina Strazza) by telling her before prom, "I just want you to know, whatever happens tonight, I am proud of you. Now, don't f**k it up".

Tiffany does her mum proud as the narcissistic high school mean girl we all love to hate, who constantly torments Lori Granger (India Fowler) about how the latter's mother, Rose (Joanne Boland), "killed" her father. She commands a callous version of a Wolfpack we'd rather not enjoy misadventures with.

As for the wasted Chris Klein as the father, Dan? Well, he certainly takes utter devotion to his wicked wife and devilish daughter to heinous heights of absurdity. Alongside Nancy, he savagely murders all the other prom queen candidates (barring Lori), amongst others, so that Tiffany would take the crown.

A mid-credits scene shows a dying Nancy's blood pool into the symbol of the Witch's Mark, therefore hinting that the Falconers were possibly influenced by the Shadyside Curse. So, guillotining someone's hands with a paper cutter and sawing another's face to death all for a tacky tiara? Gotcha.
