20 Best Kills In The Scream Franchise - Ranked

9. Billy Loomis - Scream

It might not seem especially spectacular by modern Scream standards, but Billy's death at the end of the original film was basically the one that set the formula in place.

After quite ingeniously faking his own stabbing death, Billy returns to reveal himself as one of the film's two killers and then stages his final stand against Sid. But before he can carry out his plan, Billy is shot and apparently killed by Gale.

Yet of course, Randy (Jamie Kennedy) then points out that the killer has to come back for one last scare, at which point Billy jolts back to life, only for Sidney to swiftly pop a cap in his forehead, ending him for good.

Skeet Ulrich's utterly unhinged performance, combined with the iconic "one last scare," makes this a quintessential Scream death, and one which the series has replicated time and time again - albeit generally with lesser impact.
