13. The Collection

In uber-violent slasher The Collection, enforcer Lucello is hired by the wealthy Peters family to locate their daughter, Elena, who's been captured by The Collector. Lucello recruits one of the Collector's former victims, Arkin, since he knows where the sicko operates.

As they head into the Collector's lair, Elena breaks free from her restraints and buddies up with another abductee, Abby, though Elena becomes skeptical of Abby since she shows signs of Stockholm syndrome and calls herself the Collector's "favourite". When Elena meets up with Lucello and Arkin, they let Abby join them, believing her knowledge of the facility will prove useful. But since Abby's true allegiance is to the Collector, it's only a matter of time before she stabs them in the back.

Sure enough, she locks Arkin's group in a room and calls out to the Collector while they're distracted. For her betrayal, Abby is knocked into an iron maiden-style booby trap, where she's impaled to death.

Interestingly, the Collector seems enraged when he finds Abby's body, implying he cared for her in some sick twisted way. It doesn't excuse Abby for what she did, but its explain why she was driven to betray the group when they were on the verge of escaping.
