2014's Creep is one of the most efficient and effectively creepy found footage films of all time, and was followed up by an extremely solid 2017 sequel.

Though plans for a third Creep were soon enough announced, word went quiet in the years that followed, before star Mark Duplass and director Patrick Brice confessed that they were struggling to come up with a worthy concept for the threequel.

The pair instead pivoted to a TV follow-up, The Creep Tapes, with each episode featuring one of serial killer Josef's (Duplass) victims.

To date two seasons have been released, and while a third is already in production, Duplass recently confirmed that a third Creep film is also indeed going to happen.

Duplass said that Creep 3 will be "a defining end of a sentence" that closes the franchise out, so it's probably fair to assume that we won't see it until Duplass and Brice are done with The Creep Tapes.

But simply knowing that the duo are fully committed to putting out another film which brings the series to a concrete conclusion - eventually - is hugely exciting.
