Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights kicks off the start of spooky season. Bringing to life popular horror movies, television shows and music to life, in a way you have never experienced before.

The twisted team behind the event create 10 haunted houses for you to completely immerse yourself in. Five of these are based on famous intellectual properties and five are completely original ideas.

Each of these houses will transport guests into the world of the supernatural, extra-terrestrial and even apocalyptic worlds. Fans find themselves thown into the stories; with set designs, music and even smells that transport you into other worlds.

This year marks the 35th year of Halloween Horror Nights. Being a significant anniversary year, we can expect the team at Universal Orlando to pull out all the stops!

HHN 35 sees the return of the event's most iconic clown, an Academy Award winning movie and even the appearance of horror movie royalty.

With Halloween Horror Nights kicking off later this week, we've taken a look at each of this year's 10 houses. Giving you the low-down as to what each house is about.

With Universal's Halloween Horror Nights Orlando starting on 28th August, here is what houses we are most excited to experience and why at HHN35!

10. MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals

The House:

The zoo might be closed but there are still fierce brings behind the walls.

You find yourself among the survivors of a dystopian world. After seeking refuge in a closed zoo, it soon becomes clear that you are not the only ones there. This zoo is the home to fighting factions of cannibals! These cannibals might be at war with each other but they have one thing in common... they want you.

The Hype:

A house set in a zoo is certainly a new environment for Halloween Horror Nights.

Dark cages are the perfect for hidden cannibals to jump out and catch you off guard. We're expecting great costumes and makeup in this house.

Dystopian houses can be hit or miss but the unique setting of this house gives us hope that it could become a hidden gem of a house.
