This Is A... bout time you released an album.

2019 has been a huge year for popular music. Pop's biggest stars have maintained their status in this fast-moving digital age of music.

Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Post Malone have all released new albums, and the emergence of newer stars such as Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X have also dominated the discourse. Elsewhere we have had a chart war with new albums from Taylor Swift and TOOL, and the return of older acts such as Jonas Brothers and Madonna.

But don't assemble those year end lists just yet, as there are still a lot of your favourite acts waiting to release their 2019 album. While some of these may end up coming out in 2020, these are albums that have been said to come out this year that are evidentially being worked on.

Yep. We might only have a few weeks left, but 2019 still has some anticipated albums without release dates. Other than a vague 2019 year and maybe a few singles, these are albums we know are coming but don't know exactly when.

So clear your calendars, and keep an ear out for these upcoming releases.

10. Tame Impala

Tame Impala's Kevin Parker has been keeping himself busy since 2015’s Currents, collaborating with big names from Mark Ronson to Travis Scott. But fans are hungry for the Australian act’s 2019 follow up, which was announced with the new single Patience.

This was swiftly followed up by disco-tinged Borderline in April. One festival season later, yet still we have heard nothing since. In 2018, multi-instrumentalist Parker told Beats 1 he would be “very disappointed” if a new album wasn’t released by Summer 2019. To be fair, we’re just about to enter Australia’s summer, so we hope it was the end of 2019 he was referring to.

While Kevin Parker has stated he doesn't like to play unreleased material live, there are no Tame Impala concerts for November and December. Perhaps a release window has been made available for that hot Australian summer?

This is the longest amount of time we have had to wait between Tame Impala albums.

However, judging by their Coachella and Glastonbury showpieces, fans know the fourth Tame Impala album will definitely be worth the wait. Perhaps we were sent a clue all along with the lead single, Patience?
