The band that ushered in the nu-metal shift in the 1990s has consistently toured to support their albums, despite losing drummer David Silveria and Brian €œHead€ Welch. Both left for personal reasons, Head in early 2005 and Silveria in 2007.After blending hard rock and dubstep for 2011€™s €œPath of Totality,€ it was announced this February that Head had returned and would join the band in producing their album and on tour through the summer. During a string of shows through the month of May, the band played a lot of songs from their earlier albums. Vocalist Jonathan Davis is known to let his emotions show as he performs, and coupled with the reunion of guitarists Head and James €œMunky€ Shaffer, the band has found a synergy it hasn€™t had in years. Reginald €œFieldy€ Arvizu has a fingerpicking and slap-style on the bass, and Ray Luzier is a conductor on the drums. Having Head return has really brought the band forward, giving it a piece that it€™s been missing in recent years. Korn is currently in Europe, with U.S. dates listed on its website for late summer.
