10 Awesome Songs That Were Written For Terrible Movies

6. Holla by The Baha Men - Garfield: The Movie

Okay, okay. The Baha Men aren€™t exactly Grammy worthy musicians. But this song is just so catchy and fun. It was also the title track of the last album this little reggae get-up put together nine years ago! Garfield was a pretty horrific kid€™s film really. It took what we nothing more than an amusing comic strip and turned it into a misguided journey through New York (how original) that dealt with...well, I€™m not exactly sure what. But I found it enjoyable as a kid. Not so much now. In Zombieland, Bill Murray called the film his one regret...ouch. This song is a fun little reggae/pop piece that doesn€™t really do anything the Baha Men haven€™t done before. It just tells you to get up and party. But I, personally, think it€™s the best effort they€™ve ever given. A lot more entertaining than the overrated Who Let The Dogs Out. http://youtu.be/AwWgmeOxjiA

5. The End Is the Beginning Is the End by Smashing Pumpkins - Batman & Robin

Oh boy. To have your work associated with the abominable Batman & Robin is so embarrassing it€™s no wonder this song never took off. The Smashing Pumpkins are an awesome and very talented band. So it€™s such a shame to see their talents wasted on this film. The song starts off with a haunting electronic guitar riff. It is very modern but very rough at the same time. Corgan€™s vocals here were creepy and near villainous...you know, like every villain in Batman & Robin wasn€™t. It€™s a haunting gothic piece that deserved more recognition than it got. But, unfortunately, as soon as you see clips from Batman & Robin playing amidst shots of the excited band you can€™t help but cringe. Can you believe they also got R.E.M, the Goo Goo Dolls and R. Kelly to contribute to this soundtrack? http://youtu.be/BWbY4XlUi9k
