10 Bands That Everyone Loves To Hate
10. Eagles
On first glance, there's hard to find much to complain about when it comes to the Eagles. Not only were they able to cross the boundaries of rock, country, and soul across their career, but they've also created some of the most classic tunes of the '70s from "Hotel California" to "Peaceful Easy Feeling." Things may seem peachy on the surface, but the real venom comes when you dig a bit deeper.
Ever since the band's first demise in the '80s, there have been many rock fans who cannot stand the attitude behind lead singer Don Henley. While the first part of the breakup was triggered when guitarist Don Felder got into a sparring match with Glenn Frey, Henley has had his name dragged through the mud over the years for not standing up for the everyman in the rock world.
Granted, he puts in a lot of effort to make you think he's a down-to-earth guy, but his stance on the music business and industry at large makes him sound like a grandpa that's too old to deal with these new kids coming up the ranks.
Look no further than the fact that nearly all of the Eagles songs are only limited to Spotify, with Henley making a point to take down any cover or song coverage if he isn't paid for it.
The '70s may have been a blast, but not even the wild fun of Joe Walsh can save the Eagles from Henley's nasty reputation.
