Keb' Mo' is another guitarist who has been around for ages but doesn't seem to have hit the public consciousness. His first album came out in 1980 and he has released 13 solo albums and appeared on countless other artist's tracks and albums. Keb' has an easy going sound through which he channels some of the best southern blues written in the past 50 years. His smooth, lilting voice belies a superbly skilled musician who can coax some beautiful sounds out of his guitar. While he is primarily an acoustic player, he does dabble in slide, lap steel and can occasionally be spotted with a vintage Fender electric guitar around his neck. What is startling about Keb' Mo' though, is that he is not more popular than he is. His music is most definitely a feel-good take on the blues; it's catchy and easy to listen to while it's technically and musically brilliant. Keb' Mo' is starting to gain popularity due to his song "I See Love" being used as the theme tune to the hit US sitcom Mike & Molly. He also contributes a lot of the incidental and transitional music to the show - the first time he has been responsible for scoring any form of moving picture.
