While you may not know his name, Mark Tremonti is the guitarist for two of the biggest commercial successes in rock and metal in the last 20 years. Tremonti played guitar and acted as chief songwriter not only for arena-rockers Alter Bridge, but also that licence to print money that was Creed. Yes, now you know him. Ever since the all-round hated Creed ended, Tremonti has been adding more and more strings to his bow. When Alter Bridge formed, he was finally unshackled and allowed to do far more complex guitar solos. As it turns out, Tremonti is more than a capable shredder, blistering his way up and down the fretboard on his well deserved PRS Signature model guitar. Did you know that away from those bands he has his own project and deserves recognition not just as a guitarist but as a singer and a songwriter? In 2012 Tremonti released All I Was, his debut solo album featuring a collection of significantly heavier songs than either of his previous bands would have ever considered using. The album not only solidified the calibre of songwriting that Tremonti is capable of, but that he is a superb singer as well as a phenomenal guitarist. Over the years Tremonti has won various accolades from the guitar playing community, including being voted the Guitarist Of The Year for three consecutive years by Guitar World magazine. It's astounding how much talent the man has.
