10 Best Music Videos Of The 2000's
10. Here It Goes Again - OK Go
The idea of having your video in regular rotation became less and less of a reality at the dawn of the millennium. With MTV becoming less and less of a video-driven network, most bands had to think outside the box when it came to promoting their material. Then all of a sudden, four dudes on treadmills seemed to point the way forward.
While OK Go's "Here It Goes Again" is a perfectly fine indie rock song, their video was something else entirely. The fantastic choreography that these guys perform as the tune plays out had just the right amount of off-the-wall weirdness to make it impossible to take your eyes off of. On the other hand, how did we all get to see it if MTV was starting to dwindle?
The video gained a bit of traction on secondary networks like Fuse, but it didn't really hit its stride until it started to pop up on YouTube. In that respect, "Here It Goes Again" became one of the first viral music videos of the new generation. After this short little experiment with a couple of treadmills, OK Go went from an average pop rock band to being one of the progenitors of modern music video production.
