But Kokomo is unadulterated cheese mongering. I still enjoyed it when I was a young girl but looking back now, I can see how corny the lyrics and music are now that I am a grown woman We'll go out to sea And we'll perfect our chemistry By and by we'll defy a little bit of gravity What the heck does the above mean? It sounds more like Brian Wilson is teaching a chemistry class rather than trying to seduce a woman. And why the heck would he want to defy gravity in any situation? It is the thing that keeps us tethered to the earth. Kokomo is definitely one of those songs that is so stupid and cheesy, it acquires a 'So bad it's good' status. VH1 have recognised this fact when they chose it as one of their awesomely good bad number ones.
