10. Black Magic Woman, (Fleetwod Mac 1969/Santana, 1970)
The hypnotic intro to Santanas version of this song, with its exotic congas, mysterious organ and Carlos Santanas unique licks, constitutes the edge over the Fleetwood Mac original. Fleetwood Macs recording is by all means a great composition, but it is with Santanas version that one is aurally transported into a dark, marshy and torrid land of Voodoo and seduction. I got a black magic woman! Got me so blind I cant see... But shes a black magic woman and shes tryin to make a devil outa me...
