Canadian prog-rock/metal band Rush have been pioneers on several fronts during their long career which began in the '70's. What you may not have known is that they were contract rider pioneers in the area of alcoholic beverage demand and allocation as early as 1990. Since we're not aware of any member of Rush (officially) having a substance abuse problem where booze is concerned, what follows is truly impressive. It seems that the band required different types of booze on different days under a schedule that went like this: Monday Meyer's Dark Rum, Tuesday Chivas Regal, Wednesday Martell Cordeon Bleu (cognac), Thursday Tanquery Gin, Friday Glenlivet (or any single malt scotch), Saturday Stolichnaya or Moskovskaya Vodka, Sunday Courvoisier Napoleon (cognac). What is even more impressive is the musicianship and longevity of the band considering the incredible booze schedule.
