10. Maynard James Keenan

Maynard James Keenan is the frontman for two very popular rock bands, Tool, and A Perfect Circle.

While the 5'7" native of Ravenna, Ohio is best known for belting out lyrics to songs like 'Sober,' he also happens to be an accomplished Brazilain Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. In fact, Keean currently holds a purple belt in the discipline.

It was another well-known musician, Primus Drummer Tim Alexander, who first introduced The Tool lyricist to the world of Jiu-Jitsu several years back. Due to his tremendous success in the industry, Keenan had become complacent as an artist and saw taking up the martial art as a chance to challenge himself.

Keenan is also the son of a former wrestling coach and competed in the sport during his time at Mason County Central High, back in the 1980s. The singer has even been known to return to his old stomping ground to help coach on occasion.
