10 Great Albums You Probably Missed In 2013

3. Action Bronson - Saaab Stories

Of all the current upcoming rappers in the world, Action Bronson has to be the most interesting, or at least, the most threatening; the man has already established his tough guy persona with awesome lyrics such as €œwhy would I need a bodyguard when I look like a bodyguard.€ This former chef from Queens flows almost as well as he pines after local cuisine. And being that you don€™t see many overweight white guys with massive ginger beards in the rap game he€™s quite a memorable face. But don€™t let the admittedly grotesque and offensive cover of his latest EP, Saaab Stories, turn you away; Bronson manages to rap with surprising class. Actually, that€™s probably his biggest talent; the ability to lay crass but perfect flows over classy beats. A perfect example of his style is in the song Alligator which ranges from the ridiculous and bursting chorus of €œI€™m €˜bout to buy an alligator for my birthday€ into a much deeper coda recounting his experience with a very unwell woman recovering from a cancer bout. It€™s messed up, but in a very good way. As far as the rap genre is concerned, Action Bronson represents a whole new kind of artist. Equal parts crazy unpredictable and seriously smooth, he€™s something of a dilemma; but, best of all he€™s heaps of fun live; known to throw out gifts to the audience and run off stage to mingle with arenas full of people, he isn€™t an artist to overlook.
