This is a cool customer of a song, brooding and mysterious, like a stranger at the end of the bar, sharp dressed and suave, sipping his drink, whilst staring straight ahead. Guitar player, Pat Davern, is the star on this one with some pretty loungy and funky, wah-wah effected, licks going down. A very understated vocal performance here, just floating over the top of the laid back but still weighty groove. This is one of the bands more jaded tunes, which seems to be addressing the disposable approach to modern music and endless trend hopping. A relevant topic, as Grinspoon have fallen in and out of favour with different crowds, at various points in their career as they refuse to stagnate or pigeon hole themselves.
