10 Great Rock Bands Snubbed From The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
3. Rage Against The Machine - 3 Years
Rage Against the Machine were true musical revolutionaries when they came on the scene in the early 90's. While originally thrown together with the alternative scene, Rage's music was unlike anything anyone had ever heard before.
For many, this was the first rap-rock hybrid band, with Zack de la Rocha's spitfire delivery demanding fans attention as he pointed out the injustices present in today's society. What really made the band rock was Tom Morello, whose trademark solos were a nod to metal while incorporating digital effects to make other-worldly noises emanate from his instrument. Across just 3 albums, the band cemented themselves as one of the greatest bands of the decade and one of rock's true trailblazers.
So...why aren't they in yet? Granted, the band has only been on the docket for 3 years, but if there is any band that deserves to be inducted in their first year of eligibility, Rage is more than worthy of that accolade. As of writing, it seems that Rage's time is coming back around again with their reunion shows this year. With the band dominating the rock landscape again, the Rock Hall should take advantage and let Rage pummel their Halls to the ground.
