Stand Out Track: Pick anything from Zeppelins first four albums, you cant really go wrong. A giant behind the kit, John Bonham rose to prominence even when surrounded by a talismanic guitarist and the greatest front man in rock (sorry JPJ, but at least you still got a mention). His distinctive sound provided Zeppelins heart and soul and helped propel the band to God like status among a crop of outstanding, pioneering bands of the 70's. His immense bass drum sound remains astounding, achieved with one foot incidentally and puts todays two footed players to shame. Imbued with colossal groove and power, Bonham is quite rightly revered as the greatest drummer of all time and who am I to argue? Mr Bonham, we salute you. Like this article? Who have we missed?
