Seen by many as the best solo Mr Hammett has ever written, and is a favorite with guitar players and non-guitar players alike. Seen as easily one of the more technical ones as well. Based in the B minor scale, there is so much going on, and in parts, is lighting fast. This acts as another perfect example of the way in which Kirk pays such close attention to what is going underneath and even breaks in the middle, to then change tack with the second part. the tapping is super sharp and so tasteful (unlike so much tapping). Then the section of hammer on's, sounds amazing. I'll never forget the first time I heard this solo. I was on my way to school aged 10 years old and I had my walkman on and just couldn't believe what I was hearing. Show me another lead guitarist, except Marty Friedman, that can write such incredible shred fests that take feel, emotion, technique and taste and make them all sound this great.
