10 Horrible Hard Rock Songs By Great Artists

10. Pea - Red Hot Chili Peppers

One Hot Minute by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the more overlooked entries in the band's catalog. Though the album has garnered a reputation as one of the band's most uninspired efforts due to the loss of John Frusciante, the addition of Dave Navarro and darker lyrical twists actually give the listener a lot more to work with. However, if there's one thing that you shouldn't do, it's leave Flea in the studio by himself.

Make no mistake, Flea is an astounding bass player, which is shown throughout the album. He even has a few decent chops when it comes to songwriting, considering his mammoth contributions to the closing track "Transcending," but the fact that "Pea" exists just seems like a little mess that somehow found its way onto the album.

The song is charming for what it is, but the idea of Flea just plucking on his bass while pretending to be a pea is one of those things that you didn't really need to know existed, especially come after classic Peppers cuts like "Aeroplane" and "My Friends." Flea may be a god amongst rock musicians, but that doesn't mean every single he touched turned to gold on principle.
