10 Huge Artists Who Got Snubbed At The Grammys
6. Beyonce
In this day and age, there are only a handful of people who can't really get behind Beyonce. Ever since breaking out of the shadow of Destiny's Child, Mrs. Knowles has practically become a god figure in R&B, going for touching ballads as well as some of the most empowering songs that the genre has ever seen. When the press started to take her seriously on Lemonade though, it took the rest of the Academy a little while to catch up.
After pouring her heart out onto vinyl for her cheating husband, Lemonade was the pinnacle of everything Yonce had worked for up until that point, twisting her genre inside out and making some damn interesting music in the process. That sounds like the kind of thing that should win Album of the Year, but all of the accolades ended up going to Adele's album 25 instead, which seemed like overkill since she won virtually every Grammy the last time around with her album 21.
Out of everything on this list so far though, Beyonce is one of the few who got an apology for not winning almost immediately...and not by the Academy either. During her acceptance speech, you could tell that Adele was extremely flustered and even went out of her way to say that while she put her heart and soul into her own record, Beyonce's album was revolutionary and deserved to be up there as well. While you can say that the Grammys are out of touch, Lemonade was at least nominated. They may be making baby steps, but the nomination is at least something.
