10. XentriX - Ghostbusters

Original Artist - Ray Parker Jnr (1984)Release - 1990 (Ghostbusters Single) Veterans of the thrash movement dating back to the mid 80€™s, British metal band Xentrix had gained notoriety thanks to the success of their self-titled demo which received a five star rating by Kerrang, Touring with the likes of Testament and Sabbat in support of their debut album, Shattered Existence, the band caused quite the stir when in 1990 they decided to pay homage to now pop culture classic and it's accompanying theme song, Ghostbusters. Somewhat controversial thanks to unauthorised usage of the famous Ghostbusters logo for the single, the Ray Parker Jnr cover was eventually re-released with a new cover and culminated in the band reaching new heights of success that led to the recording of their second album For Who€™s Advantage? And the filming their first official video for the title track. Although breaking up after multiple releases in the late 90€™s (not counting a brief reunion in 2006), Xantrix have recently reformed and are promising whole new material in the near future. We can only hope any future releases will be as memorable as their now infamous cover of one of the biggest pop songs in history from the soundtrack of one of the biggest movies ever.
