"21st Century Breakdown," had a lot more slow moments than your average Green Day album. The album is broken into three acts, similar to American Idiot. Act two ends on the slow build of "Restless Heart Syndrome," to round out the chapter. Immediately beginning Act 3, is the relentless "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades." Although taking a back seat to the singles from the album, "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" is 3 minutes 15 seconds of attitude, at a point where the album needed it.
